A Thanksgiving Reflection

Today on this bitter cold day here in the Northeast, I reflect on what it would be like to not have heat or shelter or a nutritious meal. Having served on the Executive Board for our local East Bay Food Pantry, I know how very real those situations are for too many of our neighbors. I wish it wasn’t true, but wishing it away isn’t a very practical approach. This chapter (forgive the pun) in my life has been quite exciting, but it was also important for me to find a way to use it for some good. So for this month known for taking pause and giving thanks for our blessings, I’ve decided to share some of mine. During November all my book sale profits will be donated to the East Bay Food Pantry.

I’m grateful to everyone who has purchased a copy of The Fool’s Truth. And a special thank you to some very gracious and generous businesses, organizations, and friends who opened up their doors to host signing events and meet the author gatherings. They were my first book signings and wonderfully fun and memorable! But more important, they allowed me to raise funds for a cause that is dear to my heart. And as I think of how many people will be helped by this small gesture of buying a book, I feel a little warmer, and all the more blessed.
